Coil racking is designed for the storage of material on reels or drums (usually electrical cable). The drum, located on a steel spindle is conventionally handled by forklift trucks and positioned in the desired rack location.

The spindle is suspended between chocks which are bolted to the rack uprights and adjustable vertically. This flexibility in the position of the spindles makes drum racking more adaptable as varying reel diameters can be stored safely and securely.

Wickens coil racking is available in single sided and double sided styles and supplied as individual bays or continuous runs to suit your layout requirements. It is an ideal storage solution for large cable drums in a warehouse or dispatch environments.

Our drum racking is designed and manufactured using the relevant structural steel sections to accommodate drums of all sizes with individual drum capacities up to 3000kgs. The unwinding or decoiling of cable can be safely carried out due to the spindle retaining chock design and the use of drum collars.

Drum racking can also be used to store products which are delicate and susceptible to surface damage, such as wallpaper or high value cloth. They are particularly suitable for heavy products which need to be unwound from a storage location without repositioning.

Each system is designed specifically to meet your unique requirements.
