A run of racking is a number of uprights connected together in a row by bolted bracing components.

A single sided rack has arms attached to one face of the upright only and is designed to store products on one side. A double sided rack will store products on both sides of the rack.

The number of uprights connected together in a row by bracing

The distance from centre of an upright to the adjacent upright

The uniformly distributed load an arm will need to carry

A removable pin on the end of an arm when loose or rolling loads require a method of load retention.

A fixed end stop can be welded to the arm end if required.

Bolted adjustable rack (BA) - where the upright is pierced (usually with holes on 150mm vertical pitch) in order to provide optional arm positions as required. Bolted non-adjustable rack (BNA) - where the upright is pierced in specifically agreed positions for attaching arms (this type of rack has no future arms location adjustment)

This is the height to the top of the top arm which can be relevant when considering building height restrictions or the maximum available lift of a fork lift truck
