“At the last site we stored most of our stock on the floor” explains Dave Ross, Project Manager at Pipe Supports. “We haven't downsized as quickly as planned and we just don't have the space to do that at the new site. We've had to completely change our way of thinking about storage.”

Specialist Racking

Wickens worked with PSL to design a complete storage solution covering their whole production process. “We wanted to find a solution which suited their needs and we worked closely with Dave to get to the route of their problem” comments Neil Bates, Wickens' Sales Manager. Wickens designed some specialist racking which included manufacturing steel trays designed to be easily removable. The trays have a lip around the edge so various sized components can be stored together without rolling away or getting lost.

Complete Project Solution

By utilising a combination of products Wickens were able to design a complete project solution which created more than just space. By introducing new storage PSL have greater control over their production process and have minimised damage to their products by raising them off of the floor. “We've never had to worry about space and layout before” comments Dave, “We've had to be much cleverer with our design and Wickens have understood this. Neil knew where I was coming from.”
