An incident involving an articulated vehicle rolling into and seriously damaging their new building led our customer to assess their safety equipment . Wickens provided a solution to prevent a more serious incident occurring in just 2 weeks.

Crucial Health and Safety Compliance

Failure to protect pedestrians from vehicles can result in substantial fines for not complying with the Health and Safety at Work Act. In addition storage facility risk assessments often focus on the danger of products falling from height as a result of impact to racking.

Protection

We recommended REP101 armco barriers to protect the building from further damage and to create segregated areas for pedestrians. The barriers are designed to take the impact of large, slow moving articulated vehicles.

Safer working environment

The installation was so successful it was decided to address the internal health and safety needs. We have since installed a series of REP100 barriers combined with our protection posts. These define different areas within the building keeping people and vehicles separate.
